Privacy Policy

This policy explains how VanLook (Lucian Vancea, a self-employed sole trader based in London) handles personal information. VanLook is the data controller for the information described here.

What is collected

When you send an enquiry through this website, the form records your name, company (if given), phone number, email address (if given), collection and delivery postcodes, and the message you write. If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we hold whatever you send us in that message.

Why it is used

Solely to quote for and carry out the job you are asking about, and to keep records of work carried out. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where a job goes ahead, performance of a contract.

Who it is shared with

Nobody, except the hosting and database providers that run this website and store enquiries on our behalf, and any authority we are legally required to disclose to. Your details are never sold or used for marketing lists.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to a job are deleted once they are no longer needed. Records relating to completed jobs are kept for up to six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to its use, or ask for its use to be restricted. Email vancea_lucian@yahoo.com and it will be dealt with within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
